I'm not a pro but just wondering how it would look to paint your walls a medium to dark gray or deep blue and paint the brick around the fireplace white. Then add a piece of art with lots of color to the left of the fireplace and add colorful throw pillows to the sofa. Add a fun lamp in there as well.

A large are rug to ground the space. It looks a little cold right now with the concrete style floor. Maybe paint out the brick behind the wood stove fireplace so we can see it. Add some artwork, throw cushions, blankets and poufs.
