I would have loved to do something fun to ours, but my hubby wasn't in agreement, but did like my second idea of staining the risers to match the woodwork and the treads to match the solid oak floors so that's what we did.

Yes I did! There are so many ideas online or on Pinterest for painting or even using wallpaper on stair risers! The nice thing about paint if you don't like it, you just have to get the paint brush out again. Keep us posted!
