Thanks everyone!. I think the double fernleaf is the best. The flowers are still good after 3 days. I saw a single fernleaf clump grown in front of a house that I pass by everyday going to work. Those flowers don't last long. The petals fall off by the 3rd day.

Tim, are you still interested to trade your p. Obvata for a my fernleaf hybrid peony? If you like, I think that I will be ready to trade next year.

Hello, I am new here. I live in Hamilton, ON. I have a small mixed garden, but peonies take up more of the real estate than any other plant, I think. Yesterday I posted on the Itoh thread with Bartzella. At the moment P. mollis is in bloom. I love the darker feathering on the pure pink petals. Also a single fernleaf type with more than 30 buds and flowers. As Karen says, it is a short glory, but worth it.

Dinie, what I have is the species fernleaf. Yours are probably hybrid. I am not sure. But your combo of hybrid fernleaf and hosta is gorgeous! What is the name of your hosta? I also like your pink fernleaf hybrid too? Do you know its name?

Karen, the hosta is my favourite, Sagae. I leave it in place, and every year it gets bigger and better. The pink peony is P. mollis. I had forgotten I was in a fernleaf thread .

P. mollis is actually a species peony and is not a fernleaf hybrid. Its pink color is lovely!

It is a really cool plant! Everyone is intrigued by its fernleaf foliage. I am also getting a pink fernleaf this fall. Can't wait to grow that one.
