New Japanese Maples that I ordered online

Just got these in tonight. I have never ordered Japanese Maples online, and didn't know what to expect. Several members of this forum recommended Conifer Kingdom, so I thought I'd give them a try. I was really surprised! The plants looked no different than if I had went to the local nursery and picked them out myself. They were packaged very securely, and I am very happy with my order. Just wanted to tell you all thanks for the recommendation.

I received a "Mikawa Yatsubusa," "Villa Taranto," & an "Autumn Moon." They also included a "Twombly's Red Sentinel" as a free gift. I am now wishing that I had ordered all of them the same size as the Villa Taranto, especially the Autumn Moon! It's gorgeous.

Just wanted to share this in case anybody else reading this was worried about ordering Maples online.

They look very nice! I grow all three of those myself, so I approve your choices. I think I would have opted for a larger Autumn Moon also. It's a slow grower. But its spring color is outstanding - mine is glowing right now.

I've never done mail order for maples - no need. My local nursery carries a huge selection and since I work for them (sort of) I can request they bring in specific cultivars when they order in fall that I am able to purchase at cost. But I have heard excellent reviews on Conifer Kingdom.

Excellent! I've been impressed with the size and vigor of the plants from Conifer Kingdom, too. I noticed they have free shipping on a few varieties right now. Tempting!

I just received an order from Diana at Topiary Gardens, and was really surprised by the size of the trees she sent. I would recommend her even more highly than CK. http://www.topiary-gardens.com/

I will probably order a larger Autumn Moon when I place my next online order. I was just so surprised that it was possible to receive such healthy plants from the other side of the country. They are located in Oregon, and I'm in Arkansas.

And I am going to check out Topiary Gardens now! Thanks for the tip!

Check out Moonrise. It's very similar to Autumn Moon, but a little tougher and it seems to grow faster. I've been very happy with mine. It held its spring color almost all summer.
