I only heard of this one last year and ordered two. I soon discovered that this plant is snail and slug caviar. Mine disappeared within two days of planting. So if you have a sluggy milieu protect them.

It's a runner. I had it for a few years, and it took over quite some territory, but now we no longer have a cat and the voles seem to have eaten it all.

Wow! within two days of planting? Don't have such a slug or snail infestation here,but perhaps I will find out. : ) As far as spreading, I wouldn't mind some of that and I can pull or dig out what I don't want. I have lots of experience with that as I have quite a few different varieties of anenome. They live a remarkably long time.

Its a gorgeous plant and on my "wish list"! Thank you for the in put on your experiences. Like schoolhouse, i wouldn't mind it spreading, but bummer if the slugs/snails get it. Dont think I have a problem (no slugs bother my hostas), but will have to give this some thought.

This plant is growing - big. I haven't seen any starts from runners yet NHBabs, but boy it has gotten wide for only being planted last Fall. Now I'm not too sure it's going to work out where I have it. So far no slug damage of any kind.

Just an FYI for anyone considering this plant - mine is blooming again in July. Not as heavily but I actually see more shoots with buds down inside the plant .
