I agree, with pavers. They'd be charming for your lovely older home.

If this is also your driveaway, consider using both:

I would use a combo of both along with some plantings. If you used all of one or the other it would look like a parking lot. I envision some pathways to the front door from the driveway (maybe pavers), some raised beds with colorful shade loving deciduous plants). Good luck. Your home is beautiful

I wouldn't do concrete pavers. Clay paver bricks, though, would be awesome. We're currently doing a mix of clay pavers and flagstone for a pool deck at a historic Victorian home. I love it.

And just FYI - they can be laid similar to concrete pavers (so no mortar needed) and depending where you buy them, the compressive strength rating can be the same as, or better than, concrete pavers. So they're a great driveway option.

Kristi- I know this is an old post, just wondering what you ended up doing. Your house is really lovely and in a gorgeous part of the Northwest. Would love to see follow up pics.
