Still cleaning up

Spent the afternoon helping hubby fix several flood gates at the feedlot. The water ways were only about 3ft deep but the muck on the bottom is about 18-20", so when you start at 5'2" you let your 6'2" husband wear the waders. Ha. I was the gopher today, I don't care saved him a thousand steps. At least it was cool today those waders can get very warm. Kept a lookout for water moccasins didn't see any just some very big snapping turtles. Usually a flood like we had will stir up the snakes,I guess they have had time to go away to where ever they go. Fine with me. The gates can handle the water but the amount of debri was just to much and tore them out. We have a steer that a tree fell on during our first storm in April and he is crippled but he was trying to help us fix the gates. He was so nosy. We keep him separated from the rest of the steers and I guess he was lonely.

We have everything ready for the next round,I guess I should say as ready as you can get. I hope we don't flood like we did last Wednesday. All the plants seem so happy in the sunshine hate to see it rain again. My grandson gave me a floribunda rose for Mother's Day it is just full of blooms I took a picture before the black spot takes over.

Everybody stay safe and dry.
