typically you would put a double oven 12 - 18 inches above the floor. Any more than 18 inches you would need to be pretty tall.

I have my pair of ovens (side swing under a steam) being placed above a 16.5" drawer base. Everything is on order, so I can't give any specific feedback on the position. My family is well above average in height and this was the recommended location for us per the designer.

Ok, so if we are not talk (particularly me) then should we go 18" if we are working with the double ovens with no extras? (No steam or warming drawers).

Try to pull the overall size specs from their website. Cut paper to match the overall size and then draw lines horizontally at 1/2 and 1/4 points then hang on your cabinets. This will give you a general idea of the heights of the ovens and controls. You will then be able to get an idea of what might be too tall or too low.

I only have one side opening oven, and it's going under a steam. I have 2.5" of space between the ovens. I don't think I'd want my pair placed any higher than 18 inches (I'm 5'9"). I agree with Jakvis to try out placement. Have you been to an appliance showroom to see how you like the placement of double ovens there? My local Best Buy has scads of doubles placed in various heights.

Great idea about the cut out. Will try it to see what feels best. I am height challenged so I don't want them to be too high.

See my comment under kitchens. At 6 foot a oven that tops out at 6foot is as high as I'd want it.
