I have a strange kitchen and dining room because of a half wall and steps down to a sunken living room. I've attached a very rough sketch of what I've decided on and I'd love some opinions before committing to the design. There's pressure to decide because the sheet rock is open in large places in the ceiling because of other work. I don't want to close it up before installing the wiring and hood, but I'm several months away from actually buying the cabinets.

I haven't found a good, free design program to use so these bad sketches I do are all I have to work from. Oops, forgot to draw in the fridge just to the east of the duct.
