Hi, Rosie - thanks for your comment. I love this window in my bedroom high above my bed. It faces west and the bedroom being one of the coolest (temperature) rooms in my little house, the streps seem to love it there. I had pots of Schlumbergera's there at first, but then I got into the streps and the schlums had to go elsewhere since they were less fussy about their location. ;-)
This particular strep of Gary's is still blooming like crazy, a month and a half after this photo was posted. I really like the shape of the plant itself, too - very balanced with elegant long leaves. It does take up a lot of room, but it is the centerpiece of the windowsill. I have to think up a name for it, since it just came to me tagged "seedling" (not that it would ever be an official name, but just for my own fun.) I was thinking of Amethyst Lace for the color and the veining all over it. What do you think?

Hmmmm, a name. Well, from my view it looks blue. Is it more of a lavender? I did notice that beautiful veining. We will stick with an Amethyst color.

I like the sound of "Lavender Lace". Or maybe Cecilia's Lavender Lace. Or Anne's Lavender Lace. Then there is always Cecilia's Amethyst Lace. Or how about Amethyst Anne!
