weed? please help ID!

Hello,

I just bought my home at the beginning of Spring and all types of plants have popped up in the landscaping.. i think this may be a weed, but it's so tall and hearty that i'm not sure! It has very thick stalks, and it looks like it grew last year and the previous owner trimmed it down. Let me know if you have any ideas! :)

Looks like shrub or tree which has been cut back. Maybe Paulownia??

googled Paulownia but the leaves are a little different.. Thank you! :)

Doesn't really matter what it is if you don't want it. Dig it up. If that proves to be too difficult, mangle it as much as you can, make a little trench/moat around the stump/top part of the roots, then pour boiling water on it.
