Just bought a new house which has partial wood flooring on first floor. I want to install hardwood throughout first floor. The kitchen currently has 2.25" flooring that needs to be refinished. Would it look weird if we left the 2.25" down and added 3.25" or 5" planks in the great room which is open and connected and the other rooms leading out of the kitchen? We hate to waste what is already there, but I don't know if it will look bad if we combine the 2 sizes. Help please :-)
