I suppose option #2, but if it were mine I would do nothing, but I prefer simplicity & probably would not have even noticed … I’m not a fan of a lot of mouldings. YMMV of course.

You seem to be asking a style choice. Moulding is a traditional, looks more expensive, and seems more in keeping with your house. No moulding is a clean, less expensive, more modern look. Personally, the off-center doorway would irk me. I'd try to even it up, if possible---depending on the view from the other side. Have you got a pic of that side? Is the reason for the off-set wall structural or because there are pipes?

I’m afraid it’s just “in the eye of the beholder” thing. . Moulding does not look “more expensive “ to me, actually, often the opposite. I do realize that it’s a matter of taste, I grew up & currently live in a modern home, that’s what I like, but as I stated, YMMV.

Unless it's the angle, right now your moldings don't seem to be the same height in relation to the opening. Pulling out the wall and adding more molding is going to be odd if that's the case. Personally, I would build out the left side to match the right. If you pull the right side back so it's flush, I think it will exaggerate the height difference.

A fallacy for sure about molding looking and being more expensive in my experience molding often hid poor finishing and in your case just a wider opening will feel and look better I think all the fancy doors on those cabinets is enough .

To answer some questions/comments. The case opening is the same height as the openings for thr adjacent doors - just an illusion from the angle that its a different height.
