We have had the grape a little over a year, we do not water it often since it is in a huge self watering planter box, typically there is plenty of water stored. We haven't used any fertilizer although the potting soil we put in when we planted the grape might have contained something. We live in Atlanta, Georgia.

I'll check the exact name of the grape (I believe we have 2 different species which are both affected) and make a picture in the box hopefully later today and post it here.

i have seen grapes climb 50+ foot trees .. its an awful aggressive plant for a pot ...

It's more the question, why a grape? We had the deck, trellis and planterbox and had to decide what to put in it:) The dimensions are decent though, 9 by 2 feet and 3.5 feet high I believe.

not bad.. at least you thought it out .... i was pictuing a 10 foot vine in a one gallon fancy pot .. lol ...

the reason i asked.. as that all kinds of things attack stressed plants ... and fixing the problem.. really doesnt fix the stress ..

i am wondering if it is kept too moist ...

It's not supposed to be too wet, it's designed to keep the water at the bottom, lower than the roots can go. Additionally, it also has an overflow to get rid of excess water. It's based off of this design, but slightly adjusted:

How did you"slightly adjust" it?

Also, how moist, wet, or dry does the growing mix feel.

And what "mix" did you fill the planter with?
