Oh, my! I love the red veining! It is gorgeous, Laura! Congratulations!

I find my JL plants take their time, and don't bloom right away. Do you find this as well?

    Smiles :-)

I'm running out of superlatives for your cool collection, Laura! That is quite an extraordinary flower! Great colors for this early in the season, too. Must be pretty humid in VA already.

    Hi Barb,

Thank you so much.. I'm thrilled to see this one open. I didn't have any expectations because of the inflo emerging early in the season, but I was so pleased to see the veining and the yellow/ lime coloration!!!

Roxanne.. You would love this one!!! :-)

Wendi.. My JL varieties seem to take their time as well. I wonder why? I keep looking though and I'm being very patient.

    Xo

Hi Tom ...lol. I hear you!! ;-)

Hi James !! Lol on those pictures you sent.. I'll get back to you on that!! Hahaha... To funny!!! ;-)

I have checked Metallica and its still just branching from last year with the inflo, so I don't think I'll see anything this year. The new branches are only about three inches, but you never know.

My Hawaiian Fire looks really healthy and I'm trying to not check it as often, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.. Elizabeth Thornton looks like it might have something.. As well as my Makaha Sunn. I had an inflo two years ago and it dropped because if it being to early. I do see activity in two maybe three branches.. I'm excited, but waiting until I can see with the naked eye instead of using a magnifying glass.. Lol, I know.. It's bad!!!

Thank you David!! I'm really happy with this one!!!

Jen.. You are to funny.. " I'm getting the soft bat ready ".

It's getting very hot and humid here. Yesterday , we had temp close to 90 with humidity at 70 percent. We are expecting a slight cool down for only a few days...

The veining is what made me take a double take.. I'm thrilled and I hope to see more as it continues to open!! You were my first thought as I spied on my Makaha Sunn.. I wanted to wait until I was sure to mention it to you, but I think I see something.. Whooooo hooooo!

Thank you all for the compliments!!!

    Have a great day!!!

Good morning, Laura! I think JL plants must all be on Hawaii time! Congrats on Makaha Sun and the others! Woohoo!

    Have a great day!

    Thanks Wendi!!!

I do have activity on other varieties, but those JL must know they are " laid back with nothing but time..,". Lol.. Maybe they are still looking a my other containers and saying.. " you mainland trees are always so busy.." " take it slow and enjoy.. Aloha!!" Lol.. I can hear the conversations now..

    Have a great day, Wendi!!!

WOW Laura, this one is beautiful and so unique looking!!!

    Hi Dave!!!

I'll have some more blooms in a week or so. Inflow looks nice and healthy so I'm looking forward to seeing this as well..

Things are going well here at the beach.. We are redoing the whole back deck area ( top and bottom and replacing the bottom deck area with flagstone. Huge project, but it was time. Hubby and I built the deck area 30 years ago and it needed to be replaced. This time we had help!! ;-)

Here is a peek at the bottom area. This used to be wood, now this area and the area around the pool is all flagstone. I'm really happy with the way it's turning out. See the long flower container? Guess what is going in there? Yup.. Plunging about 12 trees.. I'm happy. Getting ready to make another trip to get more mulch.. It's a lot of work, but its worth it!

I lost three palm this winter so my son just used the chain saw to cut then down....what a sad sight to see.. I have had them for 20 years., I think I'll plant a Japanese Maple in the back corner since I have lights already wired from when I had two palms back there. I love seeing the Japanese Maple with back lighting .. We also put in on the opposite side of the pool a three tiered long bench. The workers who have been here for a few months call it my " Hawaiian Bleachers". Lol. They know about the P,umeria... Had to have a nice talk about greenhouse and the storage of their tools. Lol

Thank you Mediterranean!! You have a great day too!!!

Roxanne.. I had to agree that I wouldn't put to many on the deck, so I had to give in .. We had " the talk" about how many could go on the top deck today. Lol...

So.. I just finished with getting the long container ready with some trees that are plunged . It was a long day. Its finished ...

David.. Thank you for the kind compliment!! Lilikoi does have beautiful veining and I'm hoping I'll see more , if not deeper ones now that we have higher temps.

    Bill. Thanks!!!

    The trees are plunged...

    Have a great night!!

Wonderful, Laura! All of it... patio, plant box, Lilikoi, and love that little yoga frog. Ribbit!

I just now noticed that you had put trees in your box. Busy day, huh? Hope you didn't get sunburned. I got a little too much sun today and have a headache. Might be too much bug spray. They don't spray for mosquitoes down here. They're baaaad!

    Sorry.. I

L repost it down below.lol. What a day!!! Lol

Hi James.. Yes James, you can have your pick from several lounge chairs, and other comfy spots!!! ;-). It has been a long weekend fir me and it was a " work" holiday for us. New did a lot of work in the back and I did work in that container box all day. I'm beat... Thank you so much for the awesome compliments ... It's nice to know I did some work on this baby..

My temps are in the high 80's with a high humidity. Which they love...I'm sure it would do well for you!!!

Today was a job from well, you know here. My hubby and I cut out the whole liner from the drained pool. We worked in the heat inside the drained deep end watching so we didn't fall onto the concert. Ouch. We could have had a great story to tell ... Lol

Mona. I did put on sunblock, but I was so darn hot inside the pool area. I swear my hubby thinks I can still work like him when I was in my 30's, but I did my share today pulling out tons of old nasty, slimy mess.. Ewe! I'm just glad it's over. I did have a headache all day today.. Mi think I was dehydrated. So you know us " southerners and their sweet tea! ". I had tons...

Roxanne.. I'm sure I can fine many places to place some beautiful bottles of wine on the large table and a few close to me on the little tables!! Lol. I would love to have you all out for a party..that would be so much fun!!!

Emily. Thank you so much. I really need to show before and after picks. Once the liner is in and the pool is ready, I'll do that.. This is what I was doing all day.. I told my hubby to not tell the pool guy that I was looking for a job. Lol. It's was so hard, hot... Never again!!

Hi Jason.. " Moi". He cuts the grass and will trim the edging, but I take care of the trees and everything else. Unless I'm gone and he has to water once.. Lol. I'm the one... Ugh. But. Love it!!!

Here are a few more pics. Today's pic of taking out the liner..

Ill post before and after later...

Jason. Massive compound. Lol. . It's a small one acre lot and its just fine.. !!

    Take care you guys!!!!

WOW! Your deck looks beautiful! Absolutely amazing! You and hubby did a great job! And beautiful flowers to enjoy while lounging in that deck.

I spent all weekend whittling down the honey-do list - wife started asking about how many plumies I have so needed to distract :) I felt like I had a long weekend and accomplished a bit but nothing as much as what you did.

Gosh Laura, remember our Luau here and the first time I met you and Peggy. Seemed like we had known each other for years. Such knowledge and fun that afternoon and evening. Too bad more of the "guys" could not have made it up here for it. But Mike , George, Dan , Gordon and Werner and Mark all made up for it. Till the next time you are out , cheers and Aloha. (LOL)

    Hi Lisa!!

Thanks for the kind compliments.. It's really a lot of work and I'm sure one day when its finished, we can sit down and relax and be thankful its over. Im Ready for that time!! Not sure when we will have a party, but when it happens it sure will be a great way to break In the new deck.. Lol!!

    Hi Roxanne!!

What you have is your beauty in where you live.. I love California!! Sigh...
