Bees will visit almost any flowering plant, so no worries there :-) And there are scores of lists online with plants for attracting butterflies. I've linked to one but you may want to do some Googling for others.

Some marigold would be a good start, but bees like any flowers. If I was to plant flowers, I want it to be edible too, like marigold, borage, nasturtium, sunflowers, hibiscus. Common milkweed would be good for monarch, I read that not all milkweed are good for them so you have to be careful what variety you grow.

Thank you! Yes, I did see some lists when I googled what to plant for bees and butterflies, I just wasn't sure if I can plant all those flowers in my zone. Though, I probably can! Thanks for the help!

A black swallowtail butterfly was checking out my flowering dill a few days ago and I thought nothing of it, but today I find some caterpillar on it. Normally I don't like caterpillar on my plants, but I will let these live.
