minor leaf damage on deciduous trees.. never bothers me ...

if you think about it.. the problem covers maybe less than 20% of the leaf surface. meaning the rest is still doing its job ...

we need an ID... and if it cant be had here.. try the NAME THAT PLANT FORUM ... or the tree forum ... you seem to have all the pix needed ...

ps: if the tree is a recent transplant.. that white wall behind it.. may be baking the tree in the sun .... i wonder why it was planted so close??? ... that would make it transplant shock ...

My thoughts are along the same line.
I'm thinking environmental stress, as in heat (reflected from wall) and perhaps too little water.
Is that a watering ring at the tree's base?
If so, how often is it run?
And for how long?
When was it planted?

it's planted in nazareth, middle east (Mediterranean climate)

Watering:

gets watered 3 times a week for 50 minutes between april and october.

it have been planted 2 years ago.

deedan, all I can say is that it reminds me of Entomosporium (fungus) on Indian Hawthorn (Rhaphiolepis indica).

I am familiar with neither the plant nor the climate in the area to which you refer. My immediate reactions are that:

If it was planted two years ago and this is the first time that the condition has shown up, then look for what has changed in the recent past with respect to its culture. Fifty minutes duration from the average irrigation head puts out close to an inch of precipitation. Might this be too much?

The tree is planted too close to the wall; it can grow out a lot more in the coming years.

yeah too much water might be the problem, the evaporation from the soil during the day might be the cause for the problem because the other tree that has shade, specially shade under it's feet is not having this problem, in other words because it doesn't have high evaporation happening from the soil surface.

my uncle is considering to lower watering to twice a week instead. would you say that this is a better rhythm? We have long and hot summers, where the average temperature is 30 C. In this garden there is no mulch to lower evaporation.
