That's just... Really weird

Makes me wonder if some dormant eyes come up prematurely. I've got a GE, for example that came up with about 11 pips, of different sizes. I really think the smaller pips came up prematurely! Or the plant put on some good growth in the summer before going dormant.

Last year Golden Sunburst emerged with some large and smaller pips which resulted in some large leaves mixed in with small ones. This year all leaves are uniform in size.

I'll bet your hosta will be normal next year, DD... it's this year that will keep us guessing.

Anyone have any ideas or knowledge about this?

1. Perhaps when you planted it initially it was actually 2 plants like some nurseries supply, and then something happened to one of the plants.

2. I remember planting young plants years ago in spring, but in summer much larger new leaves formed.

I sometimes step on one as well.

You should call your service provider. How are you supposed to stream GOT or play WOW with that kinda speed?

It's really pretty though. Intesting that there are so many little leaves. Maybe you will have two, one normal and one mini broadband. You could name it Wifi! LOL.
