It all depends on the lighting. I would just get a piece of drywall and cut out a 1 foot by 1 foot section and paint it that color and look at it in the morning and evening and see how the color looks. Some colors that may be a bit darker look better or "pop" if you use the right trim color. We changed to the Super White and Benjamin Moore which is the brightest white they have and had amazing results (we have done most of our color in the gray family and that contrasted with the super white gives a nice, clean modern look).
