I love big hosta! Thank you for sharing yours.

First one looks like Earth Angel.

The second one looks like Richland Gold but it's pretty hard to ID this type of hosta.

I know the 3rd one is Fragrant Bouquet and the last is Pauls's Glory. The Paul's Glory is the biggest of all. It gets morning shade, then some early afternoon sun, then shade again. Loves it spot. The Fragant Bouquet is in the shade but not deep shade. Both plants were year end buys for me at a couple bucks.

Sum and Substance; unfurling at 4 feet.

Biggest Minuteman (best effort award) 24 inches

Pretty sure it's a Blue Angel, runner-up in this category 30 inches. You will end up bigger so don't look so despondent.

A mere 45 inches, so far, but destined for 6 feet I'm sure. Beautiful Blue Angel.

Huge hostas! Or just fast growers! Paul's Glory is definitely one my fastest growers. I bought ONE from Lowe's maybe 4 years ago and now have 5 (i divide my hostas often) plus a reversion plug I separated out last year that looks all bluish. Wonder what Paul's was hybridized from? I've checked a half dozen websites and all tell me Ruh; Hofer; hybridized it but don't tell me from what!!!

Paul's Glory was HOTY of the year in 1999. Definitely a hotty in my garden.

Gardenfool, thanks for posting that comment about Paul's Glory, it's very encouraging. Like so many others I planted last year, Paul's Glory came up this year about 1/3 the size it went in. Very disheartening. But if it's a great grower then next year it ought to make some serious progress.

Susie, I agree with Vanessa that your first photo is likely Earth Angel ~ a classic beauty. Your Hostas are really popping!

Jon, what are you feeding yours? They're ginormous!

Gosan Sunproof hungry! Eat puny Orange Marmalade after a snack of Radiant Edger...Not too tall but very wide.

Gary, look at that Empress Wu! All that's missing is that gentleman from the EW pics to stand behind it with a measuring stick.

    Here's Sagae----

Nice! That yard stick really brings it home how big this is. Almost as tall as the pic on the hosta library with (I looked it up) Brian Skaggs, the originator. Yours might catch that one soon!
