I agree- door traditional and hardware is modern.

The door is very nice, but I also am not a fan of that handle with it. Everyone has their own style though, so I say go with what you like.

That door may be traditional, but with the square lines, it can totally work in a modern house. If the house is traditional, than the handles wouldn't work.

Answering here as opposed to your question to me on the May 2015 thread.

My doors are slabs. They were ordered "pre kerfed" which means there wont be trim. They will be painted the same color and finish as the walls and other woodwork for a minimalist look. I chose a very similar handle to yours.

Delaney Hardware, Vida These were reasonably priced and my builder says they are decent quality. I was running out of $$ after plumbing, lighting, etc etc.

I could see your handles working for you if the house style is eclectic. Kind of sexy to mix elements if you can do it correctly. That is a real art though.

We are using the same doors but went in a totally different direction with handles. Here is a picture of the handle on our exterior door. The interior doors will be white five panel.

We have these handles in our house and I love them!! I actually prefer to mix traditional with modern. Sorry for blurry phone pic, but we are in last stages of our major remodel/rebuilt, and that's as good as it gets with all the dust right now!

Agree with Ren8, looks like a handle that wants to reach out and grab whatever you're carrying, your clothing, or portions of your anatomy as you walk by. Given the popularity of levers it must be just me, but I end up black and blue around the midriff from getting poked by these things, not to mention ripped clothing. Give me a nice round knob any day.

We have the Halifax on three panel dark stained Alder doors in a modernish house and really like them. Levers are a tradeoff - as people have said, you can snag on them, but being able to open a door when your hands are full makes it is worthwhile trade-off for me. Reasonably priced and we haven't had any problems with them.
