I have a 60ft shallow well and a 1hp jet pump that feeds my house. I am installing an irrigation system and am ready to do the install. I plumbed in the irrigation pump using a Tee on the 1 1/4" mainline. There is a check valve at the well about 75ft towards the street, a check valve prior to the pipe entering the house to the jet pump and another check valve prior to the irrigation pump.

The irrigation system was professionally designed by Rain Bird and the pump is rated to handle the irrigation design.

It was recommended to my today by someone that I should rerun the mainline from the well to go directly to the irrigation pump first, then Tee off after the irrigation pump-one going to the house pump and the other going to the valves assembly. He said the jet pump for the house will pull water through the irrigation pump even when it is off, this way when the irrigation pump is running and the house pump turns on briefly to raise the house pressure, that they won't compete.

Does this makes sense to you professionals? (the guy who told me this works in the irrigation industry, I just to get a second opinion before I dig and redo the plumbing.)
