We are currently going through a home renovation plus addition (and hope to not go through it again for a very long time). In our family room, my wife and I struggled with the tv/fireplace placement, and ultimately nixed the fireplace. She didn't love the look of a linear direct vent unit, and I wasn't crazy about the tv being too high on the wall.
Our contractor suggested putting in a wall-to-wall (15 ft) built-in unit and said his carpenter can draw up whatever we have in mind. I thought I would come here for some design ideas. I have seen some pretty cool media walls, but our windows probably get in the way. I attached a picture of the drawing that includes the family room wall on the right and the kitchen on the left. There is a wall that juts out about two feet dividing the rooms and our kitchen cabinets go up to that wall in white. We will store the av components in the built-in too. Thanks for any thoughts/help.
