Building a home in California and the great room, dining, and kitchen are all connected so probably need to do a single floor covering throughout. We are debating between distressed hardwood and porcelain

We have a 6 yr old and a large black lab so a little concerned about hardwood

And wondering if the porcelain or natural stone will be too cold looking
