Warsaw seems like the perfect alternate to Etoile Violette. I'm curious what color it is in your climate. Have seen pictures from almost black to burgundy. On my monitor your picture shows up as burgundy. Does the color change as the bloom ages? TIA

Hi Irisgal, I found this picture from last summer, sorry it is not in focus. This is a much more accurate depiction of the color. It grew great, in a huge pot, south facing orientation. The blooms on this did not fry or fade at all. It was deep purple and very healthy. Got me started on this clematis fascination, now I am hooked!

there is the progression as it opened up!! The spring flush looks a bit lighter than the fall.
