I'm that way about weeds, must fight the urge to comment on other peoples' gardens or bend down and start weeding. It's difficult to nigh impossible to have a perfect garden. After 36yrs. I'm relaxing a little.

schoolhouse, Ive been gardening ever since I could walk.. so now that Im in my 50s and still obsessed.... I'm in trouble in the kind of trouble I like... Hahah. So its not only me huh.. I hope so..

I like to deadhead flowers when I visit my SIL or MILs houses. They don't mind!

I can sit down right in the middle of my weeds and be perfectly happy! It's a blessing...and a curse :)

oh my.. I'm the type, id be sprawled on the lawn with my weeding tool to remove clover... and you know how these things snake through the grass. I managed to keep the grass pristine doing this.

Oh, oh.....I like clover, too.

It's a good thing I don't mind weeds, since I'm surrounded by acres of them (LOL) along with some nice grass! The horse pasture surrounds our place and some of these weeds are actually great for butterflies and bringing in beneficial insects :)

Well, I have wild weedy areas too and we live happily together; but in my flower garden I say who sets up residency. Yes I like clover also both the little white clover and the one with the big pink/purple flower heads. When I find that type I tend to leave it alone esp. in the orchard. Right now there is one in my courtyard border. I know I'll be sorry if it seeds down but I just keep weeding around it.

I behave the same way, but I don't associate my behavior with the word fanatical. I find gardening so relaxing and peaceful. It draws me in and helps me push aside all the unimportant clutter that is tangling up my mind.

Well, I must be fanatic, I just finished planting a new bed, I'll be 82 in Oct. I still love to mow, but trimming, ugh!

Yes, trimming! I agree with you flowergirl70ks. ugh. I just don't do it around trees after I mow and the grass grows higher and higher up around them all summer long until I will eventually pull them. Takes me some time to get around to weeding around the buildings' foundations too. A weedeater makes my back hurt. Yesterday I finally bought a new cordless one, the other cordless machine was giving up the ghost. The new one has a rechargeable battery you remove and put on a charger, I just finished using it for the first time a little while ago. Works ok, runs a long time, but still makes my back ache.

Schoolhouse- My mom has the kind you plug in and recharge. It doesn't last very long....but super light! No battery, no gas tank....just plug it in, charge it up and go. She really likes it :)
