Unfortunately, it is very difficult to be very specific about watering routines.........there are just far too many variables involved. You will need to do some testing or experimentation to determine frequency and duration. When you do water, you want the water to penetrate to the full depth of the rootball. Allow to dry between waterings but not to the point where the soil is completely dry - it should remain as close as possible to "evenly moist" at all times.

Thank you. What would you recommend is the best way to check if the water is penetrating that far down? Should I use a soil moisture meter?

Moisture meters are not particularly accurate :-) Dig down along side (not through) the rootball to see/feel how far down the water penetrates.
