drip irrigation for my Japanese Maple

I'm looking for some advice on watering my Fireglow Maple that I planted 1 month ago, it's approximately 6 feet tall. Until now, I was watering with a garden hose 2 to 3 times a week, but this is becoming tedious, so I am installing a drip irrigation system, as I also have a few other fruit trees and shrubs that I planted. I have placed 3 one-gallon/hour emitters around the tree. My question is: how often should I run the system, and for how long each time? I was thinking to water twice weekly for about 2 hours, but worrying that I might be overwatering. Any help would be appreciated. I live in Long Island, NY which is Zone 7, and recently the temp here has been averaging 70s.
