Hello all,

I recently found the Adenium-forum, and so far I have only been "lurking around" reading this and that.

I am from cloudy Denmark, Scandinavia, an amateur botanist and photographer - and for about 10 years, I was an enthusiastic grower of caudiciforms and pachycaul plants (Adeniums, Cyphostemmas, Pachypodiums, Uncarinas among others). Without a greenhouse it had proven a difficult task, and I somehow lost interest a few years ago.

But now I have decided to start again - with some "leftovers" and lots of seeds already sown, mainly Adenium. ;-)

Welcome, Martin! Excited to have you with us. I am looking forward to learning more about you. I am from the Midwest part of the US, about 300 miles south of Chicago Illinois. I've been growing Adenium and other succulent plants for about 3 years but only recently discovered the forum. I do not have a greenhouse either, I have just converted the house into "my workshop". Glad you decided to return to your roots (slap knee here) ...can't wait to see your collection.

Welcome Martin. I am from the West Coast of Canada (Vancouver Island).

That is the nice part about this forum. We are from all walks of life or atleast different locations in the world.

Thank you all for the warm welcome!

I have been growing Adeniums for about 7 years and have tried growing all species with moderate (and in some instances no) success. My small "Adenium Park" is long gone, I only kept 3 small "bonsai seedlings", but now I will try to focus on raising my own seed-grown Adeniums instead of buying mature plants.

Before I lost interest in growing succulent plants, I sowed hundreds of mainly Adenium seeds, from Köhres Kakteen in Germany and Kesorn (Adenium Seeds) in Thailand. As you know, Adenium seeds are pretty easy to germinate, and the seedlings are fun to watch growing. :-) A week ago, I sowed 80 seeds, 50 A. arabicum cultivars, 20 A. obesum and 10 A. somalense and put them on a heating mat and under growth lights (I never tried that before). I guess, it will get crowded around here. ;-)

Hi Martin,

Nice park you had there. I really like the other caudiciforms you had there as well. Just gave me an idea on creating my own unique adenium garden. Happy growing!
