These look like tree seedlings but I can't id the type. Possibly birch?? Any of those around?

Hmmm, not that I can think of. The area is actually directly under some Amelanchier Grandiflora. And our neighbor has a big Magnolia. Most of the trees on our block are London Planes, Oaks, Lindens, Norway Maple, Eastern Redbud. I assume it's none of those.

Definitely not birch. (I have those.)
But I'd also suggest seedlings from some tree or shrub.

Could it possibly be Fothergilla Gardenii? That is the only thing growing nearby that could be a possibility, though it looks different to me. Photo below. I couldn't find any pictures of Fothergilla seedlings online.

I have tons of these popping up now too. My weed identifier app also said birch, but can't for the life of me find a birch close enough to warrant such a growing population of these guys in my garden.
