humairamkhan, the previous owner had installed these blinds. The ones at the top operate with a remote control for closing/opening. I have no clue how much they cost, but I know you can get motorized roman and other shades also. I would have preferred roman shades, but they were here; custom and expensive, so they will be here for a long time. Depending on how formal the room is, you can also look into motorized drapes.

Good Day: the most convenient blinds for high up windows are always motorized. They are also by far the most expensive solution when you also want to hardwire them. You would need an electrician as well as patching/painting the wall where the cable went. A very new option is a battery operated remote control system - it was originally designed in the US but later on refined in Germany - this system operates on standard batteries for about 3 to 5 years before you have to replace them...no special contractor is needed.
