Thank you- that's what it looks like. Doesn't look like its much of a threat, so I guess I'll leave it alone!

They get really big eventually. Whenever I plant sunflowers I always find them on the leaves. I've never seen any major damage caused by them so I'm assuming it's very little. They make a cool clicking sound at night (sounds like a dropped marble tapping).

It's hard to tell on the picture, but it's a pretty good size bug. I'm glad it's not a bad bug, I hate squishing something that size!

Yup, it's definitely a katydid. I get them now and then on my garden plants too. On big plants I just let them do their thing. If they're really feasting on precious or small seedlings, which happens, I relocate them to a larger version of the same plant. Fun pic! Happy gardening!
