The only bathroom in my 2 bedroom house is on the small side. I'm completely remodeling it but likely sticking to the existing layout to save time and money. One think I was considering was replacing the ugly mini vanity with a pedestal sink and the small recessed medicine cabinet mirror with a much larger one to help open up the space. This would leave my bathroom with pretty much no storage (the existing storage is very minimal and hardly useful as is), so that is a concern of mine. There is a hall closet right outside the bathroom, but it is wide and shallow so turning it 90 degrees into the bathroom would make it narrow and deep.

A bigger mirror would make this space much more inviting and the pedestal sink would make it feel less confined and be less expensive than a vanity replacement, but I am stuck with the storage dilemma.

Suggestions?

This is the bathroom before demo. You can see the tiny mirror, mirrored toothbrush holder, and small vanity.

This is mid demo. Currently the tub and vanity have been removed, leaving just the toilet.

Looking at the tub. The hall closet is to the left of the tub and makes up the wall that creates the tub/shower alcove. You can't see the wall because it is behind the door, but it is pretty narrow.
