I have had a Fisher Paykel for a little over a year. Single door bottom freezer and it is extremely quiet. Honestly I am amazed how quiet this is. I live in a small condo with open kitchen to dining room and living room and I can hardly hear anything. I have really good hearing my boyfriend tells me I have bat hearing! I can hear a pin drop in another room! I love how quiet my fridge is. No buzzing or any high pitched noises at all. Every once and a while I hear just a very low soft hum for a few seconds. As I am typing this I have no tv on and I do not hear anything from my fridge at all.

My Liebherr is super quiet. When I first plugged it in, I thought it was not working, and something was wrong. Sometimes I even open it to make sure it is still on!

And it is a bottom freezer, single door as you prefer...

We just purchased another FP model #RF170WDRX5 for my boyfriends house. The kitchen is still under renovations there so have yet to plug it in but I do hope this one is just as quiet.

Natalie, I don't know what size fridge you are looking for but this is the counter depth Miele we bought over a year ago is amazing and quiet. (I'm also in Canada so this model is available to you).

We previously lived in a two floor cottage where I could hear our massive Kitchen Aid buzzing all night, one floor down. 1 year ago we moved to a place where we are just feet away from the Miele and it barely makes a peep. It's not the biggest fridge from a storage standpoint but there's still plenty of space.

Your fridge is a Liebherr. Miele rebadges the Liebherr fridges in Europe and Canada. It is not a counter depth fridge but an cabinet depth or integrated fridge. It sits flush with your countertop including the doors.

I have two Liebherrs and would recommend them for their quietness.

“Some” refrigerators that specify having a variable speed compressor are known to be quieter than other types but this is not universal across all brands.

Any newer model that is extremelly quiet, any recommendation?
