love the caudex on that one.....no need prune let it grow, play with the stems get some bonsai wires

I like Jericson's idea to wire the branches. Very cool caudex.

JP, Tracy, thanks for the suggestion. I have other plants that I think are more conducive to bonsai training. I think for this one I'll prune the two elongated branches and go from there. Thanks again!

I could see leaving this plant, but for Bonsai I would want some lateral branches previous to training for that purpose for myself. Would make a very nice specimen with a full mushroom type shape and a head full of blooms.

F21, 22, 23, and 24 all have pretty much the same flower color and petal shape. F23 has the better looking caudex:

The flower color on this plant Kadie is amazingly beautiful. Not sure if I've seen it in previous photo's or possibly it just looks different in a change of lighting?

You have exceptionally nice gurth to your plants. Really looking forward to see how those seeds coming do for you. Hoping they prove fantastic.

Thank you Rick. A few of the flowers do seem to look alike in color--F12 looks like this one. There are very subtle differences in shade and form. Checked the PO yesterday--still not here.

F25 thru 33 are pinks and reds and pretty much look like the
flowers shown previously. So here’s a
group photo.

hahaha, im not sure how, but it can be done, dunno about induced coma lol,ill be trying it when my seedlings get bigger, its like grafting, but you will graft underneath probably around the root area,

No permit required to send or for me to receive the seeds. On the declaration slip Rick wrote, “Flower
Seeds Adenium Obesum” and a value of “1.”
I can tell the packet had been opened, probably by Customs either in Hawaii
or here, to confirm the seeds. Rick sent
me Thai Soco KHZ “Shada” and Arabicum x Crispum. I am happily looking forward to sowing and
watching them grow.

Thank you, Kirk! If you are referring to F14, that plant had only the one bloom so far. I am hoping that it will retain the same petal shape on the second and subsequent blooming.

Hi kadie all your adeniums have nice caudex looking great.

R-I-I-I-I-CK! Hooray! Your arabicums started sprouting today! All of the Thai Soco and two of the Arabicum x Crispum are showing their curved stems. Will take pictures when their tops are out of the soil.

Great news! Your arabicum seeds came in today without a hitch. Good to know seeds can be regular air mailed within US states and territories and at regular postage cost. Writing on the envelope, "Contents: flower seeds A. arabicum," might have helped, too. Will plant them tomorrow! Thank you so very much!

Kadie I was just sending a PM to see if they arrived, this is great news. Delivery was rather fast too! This is good to know for future exchanges in case I get some hard to find seed and can share them with you. I thought the standard envelope would be less scrutinized by officials.

I sowed some of the same 3 types of arabicum seeds in May so our plants will be close in age.

Tracy, yes, I deleted--'twas only a temporary whim, shown long enough...didn't want it to be a permanent part of the forum. Yes, I feel soooo much better, thanks for asking! Will still have the wrist problem for a long time, so I'm getting help from the neighbor guy to do the soil mixing for me. I have special unordinary plans for your arabicums!

Finally got a bloom again after the July 4 tropical storm. However, this one is the same color as a couple of others previously shown so I'm not going to take a picture. I have many other plants that have buds so hoping they will open soon before our two-month rainy weather comes in.

Yikes! My flower seed order from Rinoa came a lot sooner than expected. Could someone tell me how long adenium seeds can last in the refrigerator and still be viable?

Finally, buku plants are pushing up flower buds. You know how it is...takes like forever for those buds to open. But I had to show this one: no pink or red pigments whatsoever. Could it be that I will finally get white blossoms?

Congrats Kadie on your new round of buds forming. I hope you are rewarded with some special and unique blooms. I love the leaves on this seedling, they are so plush.

Thank you guys! Some of these plants are growing too fast...seems as soon as the bud clusters are evident, the apex begins to grow vigorously. By the time the flower unfolds, the apex has grown 3 to 5 inches above the flower.

So, I decided to experiment: I nipped the apex on this one and a couple of others. Hope by doing this (eliminating the competition) the buds will grow faster and open quicker. Of course it's possible this experiment could backfire and result in the destruction of the buds. We'll see....

Found another one today that has two clusters of buds without red or pink pigments. I left the apexes alone to compare with the other later. This one, though, has a velvety feel to the underside of the leaves; you can see the patina in this picture.

It could white color, I like white color flowers, vy pure pure.

Hoping for yellow or white blooms, fingers are crossed.
