When you say higher. How much higher? Please do not place it so high it is uncomfortable to watch.I would like to see larger pieces of art above the sofa. Maybe one large one with candle sconces on each side. Dress the bookcases such: 1/3 books, 1/3 collections & 1/3 empty.

The books should be placed scattered randomly, some stacked, some. leaning & some between bookends. The collections will also need to be place randomly (as will the empty space).

The collections can contain like items such as a small pottery group, a grouping of art glass, a collection of large sea shells. When placing them you will need to let your own eye determine the placements. Do it over several days & look at it in between the days. You will feel when it is right.
