Hi szewczr, thin LED bar lights (like tape lights) about 12" long are inserted into plastic tubing to protect from moisture, and have about 7 different color settings. The switch/control is tucked into the drawer of the make-up area, near the white chair in this photo. Thanks for asking.

Hi Scott. Thank you for your prompt response. Could you tell me more details about these LED lights, like model # or manufacturer? Is there a need for a step down transformer? Hi Rich, this adventurous client allowed me to experiment with various lighting techniques in this project, which was great. These particular lights were purchased from Ikea, and were included in a package called Dioder, which came with a switch/controller already attached, as well as a driver/transformer. The driver was installed on the side of the base cabinet and the switch/controller was installed inside a drawer at the make-up table. Hope this help you--thanks, Scott

Hi iambiff, these LED's were purchased at Ikea and you are able to choose and set various colors schemes. There are kits available pretty widely now in lighting and hardware stores. Thanks for asking.

Is just one of many suppliers of LED Lighting. I have done several projects using it as accent lighting. Under counter lighting. Depending on the manufacture it can be dimmed as well as set in areas prone to moisture such as out doors.

It is one of my most favorite ways of providing the little touches to a project that gives the shock and awe homeowners love.

Ikea, does make some unique items which on occasion I will purchase.
I do tend to shy away from using their products much because honestly, I find them to fail in a fairly short period of time causing me call backs, thus I try and purchase a bit higher quality in order to steer clear of the call backs as best as possible.
