Glass mosaic tile in shower stall

I will have an approximately 3x4 shower stall tiled in white subway tile. Two sides will be tile. We'll have a half wall with glass shower wall above that and a glass shower door on the other two sides. I am planning to have two 1ft square nooks for shampoos, razor, etc and a 4 inch strip of glass mosaic tile that will match the back tile of the shower nooks. The ceiling in 8'4" and I am 5'4". Where should I put the nooks-out of sight because of the bottles,etc or in plain view? At what height should the 4 in strip be?

If you have options place the Niche's away from direct water spray. The placement will be guided by existing framing and the ability to manipulate or not.

Height is an aesthetic that would serve you and your family's needs.

The key point is proper waterproofing and pitching the sil in both the niche build itself and the tile..

Keep in mind that your nooks cannot be on an outside wall, so that may drive the placement. If that is a road block, you could also consider installing glass shelves. It's okay to see your products in the niches. No need to hide.

If you live in a temperate climate, then I think a niche CAN be located on an outside wall. I was told you don't choose that location if there is a risk of freezing as there is little or no insulation behind the niche.
