Loving the colors!!! You must get some good heat.

James, last night I nearly froze my tail off. My car broke down up in Va Beach yesterday (I'm still tramautized) so I ended up staying the night up there. Didn't have anything but shorts and a top and it turned windy and cool. Usually it isn't so cool this time of year. That pic was taken when it was hot, yes. :)

    Mona,
How far is VA Bch from your area (hrs?)? Did you go to visit Laura? Laura had mentioned that she had some warm temps lately. Well glad you made it home safely. Are you one of those southern belles that packs heat...lol? One of my best friends moms (in her 80's), lives between Houston and New Orleans never leaves home without her heat..lol.

    Mona,
    "Hot Flashes" that was priceless..lol.
Regarding packing heat, it's cute! A sweet blonde 80yo, southern belle driving her White Jag, and her gun under her seat..lol. Once she was coming back from gambling in Alabama late @ night, her Jag had an issue when she had her blinker on and turned the steering wheel left her horn would start blasting, like an alarm. On the way back she noticed she needed gas, but it was in a rural, scary section of Alabama, per her that was ethnic. Miss Nita saw a gas station on the opposite side of the street turned her blinker on and turned left. Well as she was pulling into the gas station her horn starting blaring and there was 3 questionable younger guys loitering, when they saw her and heard the horn they stood up. Even with her gun she decided to go get gas elsewhere..lol To me it's cute, entertaining.

    Ohhh. I love Yolanda!! Beautiful....

Laura - of course, I know you would help anytime, anyplace, anyone! :)
I was fine, and had family come get me and called a tow truck. Got my car home after I spent the night with them. Wasn't happy to be away from home when I wasn't expecting to be. That was the worst of it.
Yes, the 3 of us needs to do lunch soon. Y'all might need to show me the best car dealerships up that way. :) Is Peg here or in Fla?

James - that is just too funny! I can see the images playing out in my mind with Ms. Nita's car horn going off. lol Kudos to Ms Nita for getting out and enjoying life! :)

What a GORGEOUS bloom!! The colors are intense. Has it been a good grower / performer for you?

    Hey moonie,

Hope mine looks as great as yours when it blooms! The heat is just starting to pick up, 102 today. It will be interesting to compare. :)

Loving Yolanda. Could it possibly be the same as Waimea? Have we had this conversation before?

Wow, plumejunkie! That one is going to be outstanding with your heat! Look at those inflos :)

Dave - Yolanda is a Waimea seedling. I have both blooming at the same time and I could tell the dif for sure, but they were on opposite sides of the yard, sun levels varying. I think I can tell a dif in the leaves, as well.

@ moonie - my temps droped into the high 80's today & tomorrow, then back to almost 100. Hopefully Yolanda, tobas, & my NOIDS will bennefit from the suns intensity. I'm a firm believer that it's the suns rays & not the heat that effects color! What kind of temps are you getting?

From this point on, I am going to try to remember NOT to say Yolanda is a Waimea seedling. After spending a good hour trying to find where I had originally read that, I can't seem to find it. So, now I'm unsure. lol

plumejunkie - my temps have been all over the place, even down into the 60's at night. Now they are steady in the upper 80's and low 90's and should remain that way from now on. Occasionally, will have highs in the 80's, I'm guessing. We have hot, humid weather all summer and into the fall. Fall seems the hottest time to me.
