The Medici system is an opaque system, much like a paint. There is no interplay with the existing concrete. The effect is created by mixing the paints. Its much more like a faux finish. The reactive stain process on the other hand is a chemical reaction that changes the color of your existing concrete. It highlights the natural marbling in your existing concrete slab and adds multi-dimensional colors. If you have decent concrete, don't cover it - use a reactive stain instead!
