I normally try a couple of inches wider but, if the one you already have is just 4 inches wider, that would be fine and I would not spend extra money buying a 12" wide new one.

Japonicas with double blooms but, due to their blooming time causing me issues on some years (the time gets delayed due to the cold weather), I am trying to add sasanquas to get more bloomage in the Sept-December time frame. Yuletide was not successful due to a sprinkler system failure during the winter months one year. I am trying to see if I can replace it with even earlier blooming ones. Almost got another one but could not find it locally when I went shopping.

I think you are thinking of the pink yuletide, PinkABoo. Have not seen it locally but I read about it some time ago. Just not sure how scented it is as most camellias have little scent that my nose barely registers. Not like roses. More like hydrangea paniculatas, that have a little scent that attracts some bees and flying insects but my nose does not get much scent from them. Ha! Shaded real estate is small for me so I also have to be picky as to what do I get.
