Closet organizers DIY??

I'm building and trying to do my closet organizers. The cost for custom closets is very high, so I thought of getting the ClosetMaid kits from Home Depot or Lowes and build my own based on my needs. The only concern is will the final product turn out as a nice and are they difficult to assemble or put together?

My husband did DIY organizers in our guest closet. Home Depot sells the white laminate type material with the guide holes for shelving. We just did shelves without drawers because we are using it for a linen closet but I'm happy with it!

You could look into Ikea, as you may find they have more configurations and compare the quality as well.
