Anyone used Liquid Nails?

I found out the hard way that even delicate painter's tape can't stay on paper-wrapped cardboard for long before it pulls off the wrapping. So, the painting is going well but I now have baseboard with cardboard showing (picture black and white spots). I was going to take in a longer sample of the baseboard in to a lumber company who has been cutting the wall corner strips to see if they could match the width. Had an odd feeling while I was up near the ceiling that my baseboard sample looked really really like the top trim. Yup, it matched and the baseboard is about an 1/8" or thinner.

All of the above is leading to my question: I plan to remove the baseboard (really not much) and put up new with some kind of adhesive. Liquid Nails? Elmer's glue? Has anyone done this?

(And, yes, I still love my mobile home, defects and all. I just don't want to add any more.)

I've used caulk before but you're going to need something to hold the trim in place til it dries. It would be easier to use a few small trim nails.

I've used Liquid Nails on a number of projects and the stuff works.

Forgot to mention this but when I removed the trim that I'd caulked in place I had to cut it free from the wall so it wouldn't tear the paper off. Just something to think about.

LOL!! More worried about not marking up where just painted. This should have been done before painting but if any of the bottom gets damaged I can work around it (which I think is what the former owner did). So much of the baseboard is in awkward places and not obvious I'm not too worried. What does worry me is getting off what's already there. I have a little cat's claw (paw?) that has been one of my most useful tools. Fortunately, the most obvious place that some one might see was the one with the top of the wall molding and practically fell off the wall.

cliff House --the fake wood cabinets were taken off, hand painted and hand glazed and the base boards were replaced with 1/2x3 1/2 mf borads, painted and screwed in place.
