For the "brick" I was thinking maybe a beige or a gray??? Black for the front door? with the storm door removed and big painted house numbers in the middle panel.

Remove the skinny shutters. Remove the metal railings/post. Paint the storm door and front door the same color...burgundy, sage, bright blue..

Keep the garage door white as well as the rest of the house.

I'd first paint the front door and storm a teal/ blue. Step back. Still not liking facade? Stain / paint brick a light grey! Add some planters! I'd rip out everything in the front garden except palm. Go to local nursery for drought tolerant hard to kill plants ( can't assume tenants will water) and mulch. Same thing for the right of house, low maintenance plants and mulch. If you decide to paint brick a light grey, you could paint the railing and metal column a darker grey to soften its look.

if you don't want to repaint the entire home, why not just paint the brick white to match the rest? then paint the porch floor in a nice tan color? and front door in a deep rich red (to make roof make sense). then, just like the Gaines', add some natural red wood details? i'd definitely use it to box in the iron porch supports and add corbels or an architectural detail over the garage door (pergola?) and to make a window box for the right sided window. some porch seating, a new light fixture, and some stylish house numbers would be great also. tweeking landscape plantings to add in some color and black mulch will give the whole facade a brand new look for very little $.

First of all, I would suggest you move the palm tree to the far right corner of the house as shown in this photo so that the tree will frame the house. The other shrubs and plants are pretty and perhaps just need to be pruned. Then, I would suggest you paint the brick white to match the exterior wall color you already have. The roof appears to be a rosy-brown, and I would suggest you paint the shutters and door to match the roof. I would recommend keeping the garage door white, but I would go along with the idea of painting the front doors black and keeping the black wrought iron rail and porch support.

I just noticed tonight that almost every house on our street has those same skinny shutters- except our neighbor right next door and you can see where his used to be and the paint is darker! Thanks so much for all the ideas I really appreciate it!
