It is purpling and that usually means some problem with phosphorus uptake - and important nutrients. But would need much more info from you to know the cause of the problem. It is far too small to have developed and fruit and appears to just be stuck in a patch of lawn. How old is plant, how long in the ground what is your location weather-wise, what have to fed it or added to the soil to feed it, how much and how often do you water it?

I bought this Roma tomato plant around 2 months ago, and planted it about a week later. Yes, you're right, it is in a patch of grass. Since I Iive in the city limits there aren't many places in the yard to choose from to plant tomatoes. I live in SC, so the weather has been warm (sometimes hot), sunny, slightly rainy. When I planted it, I used plenty of Miracle-Gro Organic garden soil. So it had a little bit off nitrogen fertilizer in the soil. I put some Jobe's tomato fertilizer stakes in the ground yesterday. I water it around every other day. Any ideas and/or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I can't really tell but looks like nute burn.

The grass/weeds around the plant are very strong. That tells me that your soil is very rich. And if you have fertilizer your tomatoes, probably over done.

I would say that it being in with grass might be a factor. If it were me I might have chosen to plant it in a pot instead. Either that, or make a small garden bed in the yard. I think the grass may be competing with it.

You put "some" spikes in the ground - how many? How many did the package say to use? It could be nutrient burn as some suggested.
