Brad, buds, blooms

I was thinking about ordering a rooted version from them to give to a good friend of mine that wants one. I found one I think they would like that states it is a root version, which got me thinking as to "how" rooted they are. Meaning is it just numbs or a pretty decent amount so mmy friend wouldnt need to worry about it too much. If anyone has order or could shed light that would be great, but I was planning on calling when I got some time.

Thanks.

    Plumeriai45

What exactly was the rooted type you were looking for?

Check out Maui Plumeria Gardens. Doug is a prince among men!!

I recently stopped by their nursery to check it out in person and was pretty impressed. There is some inevitable root loss because of the way the plants are mailed (removing soil, wrapping the plant up, etc). However, Brad does try to save as many roots as possible in the packaging. The plants he sells are grown in a 1 gal pot and from what he showed me, they all have pretty solid roots. Some of of the rooted cuttings that are a little larger could even benefit from re-potting right off the bat. Brad and Brian (the other store owner) are also very responsive via email, so you could try contacting them too via that (bradsbudsnblooms@earthlink.net)

Here's part of the nursery where most of the rooted cuttings are:

And here's some of his larger trees:

This is a 3-tip DSP I just received from BBB on Wednesday, he left the leaves on at my request. There is a slight amount of soil left on the roots, and he wrapped moist newspaper around them as well, it was still moist when I got it. =)

I have had nothing but great experiences buying from BBB. Plants have substantial root growth and they offer some of kukiats cultivars not found elsewhere in U.S. I had a rooted Jeannie jr. rot on me for no apparent reason long after buying it and Brian took a cutting from his own tree at his house and sent it to me to root. Good people, good plants in my experience.

Lisa....I wish that I had known you wanted a DSP....I would have sent u one :(

NOW you tell me.....lol.... Being that I think I am the ONLY person in Idaho that actually grows Plumeria, there's a slim chance DSP might be the only one I will be able to keep alive long term because it grows year round indoors, I don't know. In that case, I might have to buy more, and try out the White singapore too, I've heard they smell amazing. =)

This is the first rooted plant I've bought from BBB, but I've bought Kukiat seeds from them too. Brian has always been very nice, polite and professional, and I've had no complaints about their products so far. =)

White Singapore smells awesome....but grows into a monster.

In my experience, DSP tends to lose its leaves in winter when you bring it in. Or the majority anyway. I just got a 17 tip one from MPG. ...so excited!!!

And I have never dealt with Brian. Only the other gentleman.

The DSP you got from him looks great. So healthy and awesome roots!! U go girl!!

Wait, if you just got a DSP, then why would you be giving one away? Lol...

I thought the Dwarf White Singapore was exactly the same as the Dwarf Pink, except for the pink part. Are you referring to the Singapore Obtusa? I've heard that one is a monster...

I just got a huge one.....DSP is in my top three favorites. It is not my only one :)

    Good to know... =)

plumeria45- MPG are the best packers in the business. I have never had a bad shipment from them and they always go the extra mile in their packing. They also often throw in an extra cutting which sometimes is a real bonus (I got a beautiful red once). If they have what you are looking for, buy from them as they are very reputable. Here is a rooted Katie Moragne, a Nebel's Gold and one other from Maui Plumeria Gardens:
