Hummingbirds love all varieties of crocosmia. Crocosmia masoniorum is a pretty weedy form, at least in my area. Very floppy, red orange flowers and spreads like crazy. It is also one of the hardier forms so should be OK down to z5.

Most of the named forms ('Lucifer', 'Star of the East', 'Roy Davidson', 'Emily McKenzie', etc.) are hybrids, Crocosmia x crocosmiiflora, and are less hardy. Many are only reliable to z7.

This is a plant that is native to South Africa and like a lot of summer flowering bulbs originating from South Africa, not winter hardy in many areas of the country.
