I've grown plants in this same plot of land for thirty years. I've never seen this plant. It is growing in my plumeria plots, in different media, so it is not the soil that is contaminated. Here are some photos. Very invasive, large individual grass like root mass, If you don't get every bit of root out, it comes back. Definitely grows in a clump.
