I am having a difficult time researching the differences in cable railing options, there are so many systems and very few discussions on the topic!

My project requires a large amount of interior railings so I am trying to achieve a nice result without going overboard on price. I prefer deck mounted posts (vs side mount) in a silver color (vs black powder coat) with a wooden hand rail, and cables that do not show a lot of connection pieces (as seamless as possible).

What, if any, are the advantages of welded cable railings that are fabricated on site vs the type that are designed and fabricated off site? The on site fabrication is much more expensive but is it worth it with all of the CAD designed options out there?

What is the approximate price range of per lineal foot (installed) from high to low?

Can anyone recommend specific systems that they have used in the past and had success with?
