Why carpet you have beautiful tile floors?

I agree with Susan, however since your walls are white, and the room in general is lacking color (Unless theres something I'm not seeing) then make your carpet short with a light color/ simple pattern to connect everything, like a very light lavender, pale turquoise, or a cool grey.

Hard to say with such a limited photo, but if your vocal point in the room is the TV, perhaps you need to re-arrange your furniture placement and get an area rug.
