Wow!

Ohhhh. Roxanne!! I only pull out my list when hubby is at work!! ;-) but.. He did decide to count as he watered my trees last year while I was at work and he did try and get the " right count". He was a little off, but still was alarming in his eyes!! Lol.. I do feel for you, but you can tell him about your other list of the ones you have gifted to others and to your neighbors who are so helpful at taking the " extras" off of your hands!!

My neighbors and family are helpful in taking the doubles .. Or those that need new homes. It's funny you are mentioning this because while we were at the beach today, I mentioned to my brother that I had a couple extra trees that need a good home and I really didn't want to cut them up and have all of these cuttings. He graciously waited until I said.. " would you like another tree? " his eyes perked up and then the " discussion " started with who's tree it will be between my brother and sister in law.. I can't believe my brother loves them this much!! He has around ten that I gave him and he and his wife fight over them.. I'm still smiling over that conversation today... my hubby heard that I was sending off a few trees and all I could hear him say was " thank you.." Lol!!

I'm sure your hubby is just in need of the " Visine" so he can get those eyes adjusted so he won't have those rolling eyes!! LOL!!

I'm sure you have a back up plan.. ;-)

The only time I get "the talk" is in fall, when they have to be brought in, and spring, when they have to be taken back out. My husband doesn't even want to go there because his hobby is an expensive one, too. His problem is that my hobby takes up too much space, especially during winter. But we have our own areas of the yard. I know not to put my plants in the line of his chipper and putter, and he knows not to hit golf balls towards my plants.
Laura - it must be very rewarding to help your brother and sister-in-law along in their addictions. lol

FREE-FREE-FREE!!!! That is what my husband lined up with his friend who owns a pack and ship business and he had him come by and scoop up all the ones that were not in the ground or tied down. They are on their way to Texas and Florida and I could not stop it....very sad day my list cut in half. FREE shipping and FREE plants, someone lucked out. Have to start the herd all over again. BUT wait, Lowes is getting the JJ delivery today and he is out of town this afternoon....yes, getting the boxes in the car now....brought new meaning to the word...FREE!!!!!

Oh, wow, Roxanne. I'm sorry! Maybe you want to slooowly bring the herd's numbers back up?

I can not believe that he would do that. And yes, I do have a list also that is on the computer and 4 pages long and that is just the ones that I know what they are. Sorry that this has happen. Barb

Rox, so help me understand...you were the victim of a yard cleanse?

often he (my husband says "1 in and then 1 out"...I have not been doing this at all. The culls and seedlings and not doing well ones are gone.

I'm doing " the cleanse" too.. Its time!! I understand, Roxanne!!! ;-)

great day at the islands Laura...I should have had him take them out there...wouldn't that be cool to see plumies growing on the Channel Islands...he keeps saying how the yard is still shrinking and something needed to happen.

I think the Channel Islands is your other backyard, so it would be awesome to see them grow there!! Lol... Great idea, but I think he would have muscle spasms if they followed you on your boat. I could see him now.. Lol. He would think its food for the Humpbacks.. ;-)

Things happen for a reason and I'm sure you have the good ones tied down and or plunged in the bulkhead near the water.. You have some great areas that you have placed them with love... The side yard too!! ;-)

Roxanne, I have been married over 40 years also but he is always thinking do I have enough which is sweet. He enjoys looking at the plants and he knows that there would be big trouble if he would even think about thinning out my collection without me knowing. Its not like it is one sided at ours house since he has always had a extra car to play with so I think that we are even. Also one of the rules when we got married was that you left the other ones stuff alone. I have never been a big shopper so this was a good rule that he liked. I am more a saver but I sure enjoy my plants. And so far I have over 40 plants blooming with at least 60 more that are just wanting for the right time. Sorry again and it should not take much time to fill in the gaps made by your husband. Barb
